Lovin' Life!

Life has been so crazy busy I haven't been able to blog as much as I would like to! But I'll try my best to wrap up some important things on here today! So here they are!

1.) Goodness, I love Jon so much! We are getting married in 24 days! Can you believe it!? Time is flying by!

- On September 19th it was our one year anniversary since the day we met playing Candyland so we had to celebrate!
I was thinking that we could just go out for a frosty (one of our first treats together) but Jon planned something much better for us! He bought our favorite dessert (turtle cheesecake from walmart) and some other supplies to make a little picnic dinner! We made sandwiches, and brought along carrots, coca cola, and of course the cheesecake and we went up to the bench that overlooks the valley and Logan Temple and enjoyed the food there! (This was also special because it was the same spot where we went after Jon proposed!) It was so much fun! The perfect way to celebrating us meeting a year ago! :)
And to add to all of that! The next morning when I went to work I found roses and a cute note waiting for me in my car, gosh I am a lucky girl! I can't wait to marry the love of my life!

2.) Last Friday Jon and I went to La Caille to take our Groomals and it was so much fun! I loved seeing Jon all decked out in his tux, whatta hottie! La Caille is such a beautiful place, it is a French restaurant in Sandy right up next to the mountains! I would recommend going there sometime to everybody...even if it is just to look around! :) But we're getting our pictures back soon, so keep yours eyes open for them! Also on Friday my amazing friend Coco came up from Weber State to spend some time with me! It was so good to catch up with her. She has always been such a great, true friend to me. :)

4.) My family is so wonderful!

- Last Saturday my Grandma Shupe, 2 of my Aunts, and my sister-in-law Michelle threw me a bridal shower. It was so much fun! Here are a few pictures! :)

- And this past Sunday my parents came up and we met them in Logan Canyon and enjoyed some yummy foil dinners, corn on the cob, smores, and cooked starbursts! It was such a good day! Then to end the night we played a little scum! My parents are such wonderful people, I love them so much!

It was so hard after that weekend to come back to work and school!!

Life is so great, it is also very exhausting right now! I can't wait to just relax after everything is taken care of...24 more days! ;)

what a wonderful friday!

Today was such a great day! I got to sleep in this morning (it felt wonderful!) I haven't been able to sleep in since I don't know when! So that in itself was such a treat! :)
Then Jon and I were planning on getting my ring resized today so he picked me up in the early afternoon.
But before we did that we signed a contract for our FIRST APARTMENT! :) :)
We have been searching like crazy this past week and a half for an apartment! We found one a few days ago that we loved, it is perfect for Jon and I. It's close to campus, a good price, newly remodeled kitchen and bath, hardwood floors, it's just an all around cute little place! But anyways we went and checked it out and filled out an application on Wednesday. We left with such high hopes and we had a pretty good feeling that we would get the apartment but we decided that we should keep on looking around just in case. So we looked around here and there but nothing compared! But today right before Jon picked me up he got a phone call saying that we got the apartment! Yay!!! It is such a relief not to have that to worry about! And it is just the perfect first apartment! We are so excited!
After we signed the contract, Jon's brother Ben took us out to lunch at the Old Grist Mill (yum!) I had never been there before so Ben took us there to celebrate! Then we went to get my ring resized (which we ended up not resizing at all) and we sized up Jon's ring finger. Then to end the day perfectly...we went to the D.I., TJMaxx, and Old Navy...got some Papa Murphy's stuffed pizza for dinner and watched a little marathon of 24.
Oh life if good! Jon is such a stud, I can't wait to marry him! Today we were trying to describe to Ben how much fun it has been to be engaged and Jon summed it up perfectly. It's like we're dating but on steroids, haha it's so enhanced. Everything is falling into place, I am so incredibly happy. :)

oh to be engaged!

It hasn't even been a full week yet since Jon proposed but it has been so much fun being an engaged couple!
This past week we have been talking a lot about the future and it is so exciting! Married life is going to be so blissful with Jon! We are so excited to get married!
Wedding planning has been a lot of fun so far! We are going to try and get a lot done before school starts so we're knocking down things here and there! This past week...

- We called the Logan Temple and set up an appointment for the sealing. October 21st! :) :)
- I bought the Perfect wedding dress and shoes!
- We visited a few reception centers
- And we have been browsing like crazy for fun wedding ideas and for a nice apartment!

- I am trying to decide on a photographer...any ideas??

The Proposal

Jon told me a little while ago that he has never hiked the wind caves.
(Those of you not from Logan or those of you that have never hiked the wind caves....once you get up to where the caves are you first go into this bigger cave and then you can go around this corner to a smaller one and both caves overlook Logan Canyon it's a really fun place to go and it's beautiful!)

But anyways I told Jon that we should go hike up there sometime soon before school starts! And by then he was already planning to take me up there to propose!

So last weekend he asked me if I wanted to go on a group date night hike up there, I didn't think anything of it and I had no idea that he was planning something!
Jon had to work later that night so after work he picked me up and told me that the group had already started going up and that we would either catch them on the trail or that we would just meet them at the top. Again I didn't think anything of it!
So we started our little hike up to the top, we had so much fun on the hike up and Jon acted very normal and not nervous or anxious at all.

Half way there it started to get dark and I could see these lights up in one of the caves. I thought it was just the group with their flashlights, so I still had no clue to what was about to happen. Once we got to the top we went down into the first cave and nobody was there, I was really confused and Jon acted confused as well. We sat for a little bit and then Jon got up and started walking around acting as though he had never been there before. He started walking towards the corner to the other cave and said "I wonder what's around this corner?" So I came over and he led me around the corner and oh my goodness I felt like I was in a dream.

There were red rose pedals all over and what seemed to be over 100 lit candles all throughout the cave. It was beautiful, amazing, and definitely breath taking! Right away I was giggling up a storm because I was so incredibly happy and surprised.
Jon and I were both giggling and he led me to the center of the cave and told me some really sweet things and we hugged for a little while and then he got down on one knee and proposed! I said Yes so quickly and gave him a big kiss, then he put the most beautiful ring on my finger! (He picked it out himself! It's the perfect ring for me, it's gorgeous!)

After some I love you's and excitement Jon called for his two brothers and sister to come out (they came up earlier and set up the cave for us and were hiding a little ways away from the cave). Jon's family is so great...Jake, Ben, and Liz congratulated us and gave us some sparkling grape juice and fancy glasses to celebrate with and then left us. Jon and I were both so giddy, it was so much fun.

We sat in the cave for awhile longer and just chatted and decided on our special date! Then Jon had prepared a little picnic for us so we went out on top of the caves and started to eat. (Jon and I love going on little picnic dates out under the stars so that was really special) Right when we started to eat up there though it started to rain so we decided to pack up and go to a different spot in Logan.

The whole way down the mountain I was smiling ear to ear and I kept tripping over roots and rocks because I couldn't keep my eyes off of Jon and my beautiful ring! It was so much fun. Once we got down to Jon's car we drove to this little bench that overlooks cache valley and the Logan Temple. There we finished our picnic and celebrated. It was the perfect way to end our night.

So far, it was the best night of my life. Jon is such a romantic! I can't imagine a more perfect proposal.
I feel like I am still in a dream! I haven't left cloud nine since!

I am so excited to marry my best friend and to be sealed to Jon for all time and eternity. I love him so much, I am one very lucky girl!

oh to be a summer readaholic!

I never thought that I could ever read so much as I have these past couple of months! Holy cow, I thought it was impossible...but I have officially become a readaholic!
Hopefully this crave to read will still be around once school starts and I have to read wonderful textbooks!
But this summer I have enjoyed reading....

1.

This book was so good! It was so uplifting and motivating. After finishing this one it made me sit and think about my life and what I could improve on...it made me think of ways that I could work on enjoying life to the fullest extent and how I can work on becoming my best me.

2.

Where do I even begin?! I could not put this book down. Haha, it started out kind of as a joke. Jon's dad loves this book! Every time we went to visit his family he mentioned Eragon. So I felt like I really needed to read it, so I could get his highest approval haha ;) And he highly recommended that I read it, so after Jon finished it he passed it on to me. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I have got to admit that it is now probably one of my favorite books!

3.

4.

I can't believe that I haven't read these books until now! I have been missing out....the Harry Potter books definitely blow the movies out of the water! I can't wait to get the next couple of books from home!

5.

After reading the 2nd Harry Potter I didn't have the next ones to start reading so I was in need of a book. So I went to Seagull Book! I left with Montana Summer and I read it in a little over 24 hours. I have never read a book so quickly, I could not put this book down. It was so cheesey, corny, and wonderful! If you're in the mood for a clean and happy love story this is a book you should read! Definitely worth the buy!

Now I am bookless and waiting until I go home to get the next couple HP's!
Do you have any other book suggestions? What are your favorites?
